TORONTO - Michael Sgarbossa of the Sudbury Wolves was named the Canadian Hockey League's player of the week Tuesday.
Sgarbossa had three goals and five assists in two games with a plus-6 rating.
His had a career-high five points (two goals, three assists) in a 8-5 win over the Kitchener Rangers on Friday.
Sven Bartschi of the Portland Winterhawks and Tomas Hyka of the Gatineau Olympiques were also considered for the award.
Meanwhile, Jon Groenheyde of the Swift Current Broncos won the weekly goaltender award.
Groenheyde made 77 saves over two starts and recorded a 1.01 goals-against average and .975 save percentage.
Ottawa 67's goalie Petr Mrazek and Etienne Marcoux of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada were also nominated.
