PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Joshua Leivo scored twice Thursday to lead the Sudbury Wolves to a 4-1 win over the Peterborough Petes in the Ontario Hockey League.
Matthew Campagna and Jacob Harris also scored for the Wolves (3-3-0), while Stephen Pierog replied for the Petes (1-4-0).
Taylor Dupuis made 23 saves to earn the win. Andrew D'Agostini made 29 saves in a losing cause for the home side.
Campagna opened the scoring at 2:24 of the first period after Conor Cummins just kept the puck in at the blue-line. Campagna got the puck on a 2-on-1, looked pass then quickly snapped a shot just under the cross bar.
Leivo extended the Subbury lead to two at 2:04 of the second period before Pierog ripped home a rebound from a goal-mouth scramble to get the Petes on the board.
Harris connected at 2:40 of the third to give the Wolves a 3-1 advantage before Leivo wrapped up the scoring early in the third with his second of the night.
The game was delayed for over 15 minutes with about eight minutes to play when a pane of glass was shattered near the Peterborough bench.
