BostonBruins.com- Bruins forward prospect Jack Studnicka, fresh off a 36-goal season in the OHL, wasted little time making an impact on his new team, as the 20-year-old notched a goal and an assist in the P-Bruins 4-2 victory over the Charlotte Checkers in Game 2 of their best-of-five first-round series on Sunday afternoon.
Studnicka, playing in his second game with Providence, picked up his first goal late in the opening period to give the P-Bruins a 2-0 advantage. The 2017 second-round pick, who had a game-high six shots on goal, took a feed from Lee Stempniak at the Charlotte blue line and ripped home a wrister from the top of the right-wing circle.

Charlotte responded with a two-goal second period to tie the game, 2-2, before Studnicka got into the action once more, this time with a slick feed to Peter Cehlarik for the winner at 9:41 of the third. After Trent Frederic found Studnicka in the slot, Studnicka delivered a no-look dish across his body to Cehlarik, who buried it at the left post.
Chris Breen added an empty-netter with 1 second remaining to seal Providence's victory and tie the series, 1-1. Defenseman Cooper Zech, who joined Providence late in the season from Ferris State University, picked up the P-Bruins first goal, giving him one each in the first two games of the series.
Dan Vladar made 25 saves on 27 shots to pick up the victory.
