Stretch scores in overtime as Kamloops Blazers burn Seattle Thunderbirds 5-4 @NHLdotcom

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Forward C.J. Stretch went end-to-end and scored the winning goal in overtime to give the Kamloops Blazers a 5-4 Western Hockey League victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds Friday night.

Jordan DePape, Colin Smith, Brendan Ranford and Dalibor Bortnak also scored for Kamloops (28-29-6).

Prab Rai scored twice for Seattle (14-34-1), while Mitch Elliot, and Colin Jacobs also tallied. The Thunderbirds have lost 16 straight games.

Kamloops goaltender Kurtis Mucha stopped 23 shots, while Seattle's Calvin Pickard turned aside 28.

Mucha tied a Canadian Hockey League record by appearing in the 239th regular-season game of his WHL career. He now shares the career record for appearances by a goaltender with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Ryan Mior (P.E.I., Gatineau, 2003-08).
