LONDON, Ont. - Anthony Stolarz made 29 saves as the London Knights downed the visiting Kitchener Rangers 4-1 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League playoff action.
Ryan Rupert had a goal and an assist for the Knights, who lead the Western Conference second-round matchup 1-0, while Tyler Ferry, Chris Tierney and Kyle Platzer scored the others.
Matt Puempel scored the lone goal for the Rangers as John Gibson stopped 33-of-36 shots in defeat.
London went 1 for 3 on the power play while Kitchener failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
The top-seeded Knights will host the fourth-seeded Rangers at the Budweiser Gardens on Sunday for Game 2.
