Steven Stamkos scores shootout winner as Sarnia edges London 4-3 @NHLdotcom

LONDON, Ont. - Steven Stamkos had the shootout winner as the Sarnia Sting earned a 4-3 victory over the London Knights in Ontario Hockey League play Friday night.

Stamkos, Aaron Snow and Justin DiBenedetto all scored in the shootout for Sarnia, while Vladimir Roth and Andrew Wilkins countered for the Knights.

Devin DiDiomete led the way with two goals and an assist in regulation as the Sting (16-12-0-0) won for just the second time in the last five games. Stamkos had the other regulation goal, while DiBenedetto added two assists.

Philip McRae, Akim Aliu and Sean O'Connor countered for the Knights (16-9-0-2), who are winless in their last two.

Tomi Karhunen stopped 31 shots to earn the win for Sarnia.

Steve Mason made 28 shots but went without a save in the shootout to absorb the loss for London.
