Steve Ott's list of life goals came one step closer to completion when he signed a one-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings on July 1.

Ott's wife, Erica, revealed a poster board of life goals the veteran forward made while he was in eighth grade in Windsor, Ontario.

He may not drive a sports car, but Ott owns a jet ski, and Erica and Steve seem "to have a nice and happy family" with their 1-year-old son, Maverick.

As of his 34th birthday, which Steve celebrated Friday, the Stanley Cup championship was the only remaining box to check off from his "Plan A" life board. He came closest last season, when his St. Louis Blues reached the Western Conference Final but lost to the San Jose Sharks in six games.
