Stephon Thorne scores game winner as Brampton Battalion knock off Oshawa Generals @NHLdotcom

OSHAWA, Ont. - Stephon Thorne scored the game winner Monday as the Brampton Battalion knocked off the Oshawa Generals 3-2 at the General Motors Centre.

Thorne's goal was his 11th of the season and it came near the midway point of the third period, breaking a 2-2 tie. Sean Jones and Matt Clark also scored for Brampton, while Battalion goalie Patrick Killeen made 20 saves for the win. The team improved its record to 21-23-13.

Andy Andreoff and Jeff Hayes scored for the Generals, who have now lost eight straight games and sit with a record of 21-30-5.

Kevin Bailie started in goal and made 31 saves in a losing effort.

The Generals remain tied for eighth in the Eastern Conference, while the Battalion are sixth, one point back of fifth place Peterborough with two games in hand.
