Stefan Della Rovere of Barrie Colts named CHL player of the week @NHLdotcom

TORONTO - Barrie Colts forward Stefan Della Rovere was named Canadian Hockey League player of the week Wednesday.

He had seven points (4-3) in two games for the Ontario Hockey League team last week.

Angelo Esposito of the Montreal Juniors was the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League nominee. Casey Pierro-Zabotel of the Vancouver Giants was the Western Hockey League nominee.

Olivier Roy of the QMJHL's Cape Breton Screaming Eagles was named CHL goaltender of the week. He recorded two victories last week and posted a 1.00 goals-against average and .961 save percentage. He also had a shutout.

The WHL nominee was Dustin Tokarski of the Spokane Chiefs. Matt Hache of the Sarnia Sting was the OHL nominee.

Also Wednesday, the Windsor Spitfires remained in top spot in the CHL's top-10 rankings. The Screaming Eagles rose one spot to No. 2 while the Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL) fell one position to No. 3.

The rest of the top 10 was rounded out by the Swift Current Broncos (WHL), Vancouver (WHL), the Belleville Bulls (OHL), the Drummondville Voltigeurs (QMJHL), the Quebec Remparts (QMJHL), Guelph Storm (OHL) and Spokane Chiefs (WHL).
