Key intangible stat: Pietrangelo played 4:01 of the 12 minutes the Blues spent on the power play in Game 2, but could not get much going as the power play was a weakness two nights after being a difference-maker in Game 1. He was also on the ice for two power-play goals against. Burns had 14 shot attempts in Game 1 compared to eight in Game 2, but both his shots on goal ended up in the back of the net.

Best moment: Nursing at 2-0 lead in the third period, the Sharks were given a chance to expand the lead when Troy Brouwer took a high-sticking penalty at 11:34. Burns made the Blues pay with his second power-play goal. This time he found himself at the top of the left circle when Patrick Marleau slid the puck across. Burns hammered it past goaltender Brian Elliott with a one-timer to the glove side. It was Burns' sixth goal of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
