The Dallas Stars on Wednesday placed forward Patrick Eaves on injured reserve with a lower-body injury and recalled forward Curtis McKenzie from Texas of the American Hockey League.
Eaves could miss a couple weeks, coach Lindy Ruff told the Stars website.
Eaves was injured on his third shift of a 4-2 win against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday. He is scoreless in three games after scoring 14 goals and 27 points in 47 games last season, his first with the Stars.
McKenzie had four goals and one assist in 36 games for the Stars last season, his first in the NHL. He had three assists in his first AHL game this season.
