Stars' first-round pick Oleksiak signs contract @NHLdotcom
The Dallas Stars on Thursday signed 2011 first round pick Jamie Oleksiak to a three-year, entry level contract.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6-foot-7, 252-pound Oleksiak, selected with the 14th pick in June's Entry Draft, has 1 goal and eight penalty minutes in five games for the Saginaw Spirit in the Ontario Hockey League this season. He spent the 2009-10 season with at Northeastern, producing 4 goals, 13 points and a team-best plus-13 rating in 38 games.

"Jamie is a very promising player for the future of our organization," said Stars general manager Joe Nieuwendyk. "He has a strong work ethic and we are looking forward to watching him develop as his career progresses."

Oleksiak played for the Stars at the Traverse City Prospects Tournament in September. A dual citizen, he's also a candidate to represent Canada at the 2012 World Junior Championship in Calgary and Edmonton.
