Stars extend Moose's losing streak to five games with 3-1 victory @NHL

CEDAR PARK, Texas - Brent Krahn made 32 saves as the Texas Stars beat the Manitoba Moose 3-1 Saturday in American Hockey League action.

The Moose (8-9-2) are on a five-game losing streak.

The Stars (10-2-2) opened the scoring on their first power play as Aaron Gagnon fired a one timer from the right-wing circle at 10:10 of the first period.

Manitoba tied the game at 8:49 of the second period. Krahn stopped Nolan Baumgartner's initial shot, but veteran Marty Murray knocked in the rebound to knot the game 1-1.

With 2:06 remaining in the second period Sergei Korostin backhanded the puck into the net during a scramble to put Texas back on top, 2-1.

In the third period, Scott McCulloch fed the puck to Perttu Lindgren, who was waiting patiently in the crease. The centre finished the play, beating Daren Machesney high for a 3-1 lead.

Machesney stopped 20 shots for the Moose.
