Stars claim Baumgartner off waivers, put Stefan on IR @NHLdotcom

FRISCO, Texas (AP) -The Dallas Stars claimed defenseman Nolan Baumgartner off waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday and put center Patrick Stefan on injured reserve.

Stars general manager Doug Armstrong said Stefan would be out indefinitely with a hip injury. He had five goals and six assists for 11 points in 41 games with Dallas this season.

Baumgartner played in six games with the Flyers this season. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound defenseman also spent part of the season with the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League.
