Stanfield scores winner, Cyr makes 40 saves as Prince George beats Portland 4-1

PORTLAND, Ore. - Parker Stanfield scored the game-winner late in the first period and Real Cyr had a sensational 40-save performance as the Prince George Cougars downed the Portland Winter Hawks 4-1 in WHL action Monday afternoon.

Brad Riege led all scorers with two assists. The Cougars (17-40-1-3) got even strength goals from Marcus Watson and Stanfield. Kalvin Sagert scored on the power play, and Greg Gardner scored an unassisted short-handed goal to finish up the scoring.

Travis Ehrhardt replied for Portland (9-50-1-1).

Kurtis Mucha stopped 35 shots to fall to 7-32 on the season for the Winter Hawks.
