Stajan scores three goals, adds assist as Brampton beats Windsor 8-5 @NHL

BRAMPTON, Ont. - Thomas Stajan scored three goals and added an assist on Sunday as the Brampton Battalion defeated the Windsor Spitfires 8-5.

The game was a see-saw battle as Brampton took the lead only to have Windsor knot things up on four separate occasions.

With the game tied 4-4 early in the third period, Stajan was hauled down on a short-handed breakaway attempt and was awarded a penalty shot. He made the most of his opportunity, going top shelf on goaltender Andrew Engelage.

Cody Hodgson had a pair of goals while Luke Lynes, Graham McNabb and Matt Duchene also scored for the Battalion (9-4-0-2).

Taylor Hall, Greg Nemisz, Adam Henrique, Mickey Renaud and Joshua Bailey replied for the Spitfires (11-3-0-2).

Andrew Engelage made 30 saves for Windsor, while Patrick Killeen turned away 29 shots for Brampton.
