barbashev baby bubble

Ivan Barbashev can't be home with his family and, for the time being, can't be on the ice with teammates.

So the team brought a little bit of home to him.

The St. Louis Blues gave the forward a care package to help occupy his time while quarantining after he returned to Edmonton from St. Louis following his son Daniil's birth.

Barbashev returned to the Edmonton bubble after his wife, Ksenia, gave birth on Monday.

Because he left the bubble, Barbashev must quarantine in his hotel for four days then test negative for COVID-19 four times before he can practice with the Blues or play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Blues are playing the Vancouver Canucks in the Western Conference First Round and are down 2-0 in the series.

The special care package included a bottle of the Russian soft drink Kvass, some Russian chocolates and a teddy bear rattle for Daniil. It also had a framed picture of the newborn and a card.
