St. Croix scores shootout winner as Oil Kings edge Swift Current 3-2 @NHLdotcom

EDMONTON - Michael St. Croix scored the shootout winner as the Edmonton Oil Kings snapped a two-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over the Swift Current Broncos in Western Hockey League action Saturday night.

St. Croix beat Broncos netminder Morgan Clark and Cam Lanigan stopped Justin Dowling with a right pad save to earn the victory in net.

Tomas Vincour opened the scoring for Edmonton (6-4-2) on a second-period power play before Mike Brown evened the game up with 3:24 to go in the period.

Rhett Rachinski scored early in the third on a two-on-one with Brett Breitkreuz, but Taylor Vause pulled Swift Current (6-4-1) even again shortly afterward.

Lanigan stopped 41 shots for Edmonton while Clark turned aside 32 for Swift Current. Lanigan is 3-0 as a starter this season.
