St. Croix had four points as Oil Kings use big second period to rout Blades 8-3 @NHL

EDMONTON - Michael St. Croix scored twice and had two assists as the Edmonton Oil Kings used a big second period to rout the Saskatoon Blades 8-3 on Sunday in the Western Hockey League.

After trading goals in the first period, the Oil Kings exploded for six goals in the second.

Besides St. Croix's two, Curtis Lazar, Rhett Rachinski, Mitchell Moroz, Mark Pysyk each scored to the home side in the middle period.

T.J. Foster added one in the third period for the Oil Kings (18-8-3), who converted on five power-play opportunities.

Tyler Maxwell scored in the first period for Edmonton, while Lukas Sutter had the goal for Saskatoon.

Matej Stransky and Michael Burns had the other goals for the Blades (19-11-1).
