Sprain to sideline Canucks' Ballard 3-4 weeks @NHL
The Vancouver Canucks will be without defenseman Keith Ballard for up to a month after he sprained his knee in Tuesday's game against the Ottawa Senators.

Ballard, acquired in a trade with Florida at last year's Entry Draft, has 2 goals, 5 points and a plus-5 rating in 43 games this season.

"Results of Ballard's MRI show a mild knee sprain. He will rehab with our training and medical staff. He is expected to be out 3-4 weeks," Canucks GM Mike Gillis said Wednesday via Twitter.

The 28-year-old Ballard, a first-round pick by Buffalo in 2002, has 35 goals and 154 points in 440 career games with the Coyotes, Panthers and Canucks.
