Spooner scores hat trick as Peterborough hangs on for 6-5 win over Saginaw

SAGINAW, Mich. - Ryan Spooner scored a hat trick as part of a four-point night and the Peterborough Petes held on to beat the Saginaw Spirit 6-5 on Saturday in the Ontario Hockey League.

Mike Lomas and Liam Heelis both had a goal and two assists for the Petes (15-13-1), while Pat Daley added a goal and an assist.

Garret Ross, Jordan Szwarz, Tyler Murovich, Vince Trocheck and Michael Sgarbossa all scored in the third period for Saginaw (16-9-2). Sgarbossa and Ryan O'Connor added a pair of assists each.

Peterborough goaltender Andrew D'Agostini stopped 28 shots and picked up his first career OHL win. Edward Pasquale made 37 saves.
