Spencer Humphries helps Hitmen to 3-1 victory over Everett Silvertips @NHLdotcom

CALGARY - Spencer Humphries assisted on a pair of goals as the Calgary Hitmen downed the Everett Silvertips 3-1 in Western Hockey League action Saturday.

Cody Sylvester scored in the first period, while Trevor Cheek notched the game-winning goal in the second for the Hitmen (5-6-1), who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Jimmy Bubnick added an insurance marker in the third for the Hitmen, who outshot the Silvertips 17-4 in the first and 13-5 in the second.

Jari Erricson scored the lone goal of the game for the Silvertips (4-10-2), who are in the midst of a nine-game road trip. They?ve compiled a 2-3-0 record so far with four games remaining.

Calgary finished 0-for-7 on the man advantage, although Cheek managed to score his goal while the Hitmen were killing one of two power plays awarded to the Silvertips.

Calgary netminder Chris Driedger made 15 saves to backstop the Hitmen to victory in front of 7,297 fans at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

One night after making 52 saves in Everett?s 3-2 shootout win over the Red Deer Rebels, goalie Kent Simpson stopped 39-of-42 shots fired his way by the Hitmen.
