HARTFORD, Conn. - Garret Sparks made 30 saves as the Toronto Marlies shut out the Hartford Wolf Pack 5-0 in American Hockey League action Wednesday.
With Toronto leading 1-0 after two periods, Kasperi Kapanen and Ryan Rupert scored goals 25 seconds apart early in the third to break the game open.
Mark Arcobello, Nikita Soshnikov and Richard Panik also scored for North Division-leading Toronto (8-3-0), which is on a three-game wining streak. Arcobello added an assist, and now has four points in two games since clearing waivers and being sent to the Marlies by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Magnus Hellberg stopped 19 shots for the Wolf Pack (6-4-1).
