The Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday recalled forward Sonny Milano on an emergency basis from Lake Erie of the American Hockey League, and coach John Tortorella confirmed he'll make his NHL debut Thursday at the New York Islanders (7 p.m. ET; FS-O, MSG+, NHL.TV).
"I'm excited to see him play," Tortorella told the Blue Jackets website about Milano, who practiced Wednesday on a line with Brandon Saad and Alex Wennberg.

Milano, 19, was a first-round pick (No. 16) in the 2014 NHL Draft. He has 12 goals and 27 points in 48 AHL games this season, including seven goals and 10 points in his past 15 games.
Defenseman Dean Kukan was also an emergency recall. Kukan has played in the past two games for the Blue Jackets, and has three goals and 13 points in 52 AHL games.
