Smith with a hat trick to lead the Blazers over the Cougars 10-4 @NHLdotcom

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Colin Smith scored three times as the Kamloops Blazers crushed the visiting Prince George Cougars 10-4 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

Jordan DePape scored twice and added an assist for the Blazers (47-19-5), who sit second in the West, Brandon Herrod had one goal and three assists, Brendan Ranford scored once and set up two others and Chase Souto, Cole Ully and Ryan Hanes each had a goal and an assist.

Jesse Forsberg, Caleb Belter, Jake Mykitiuk and Alex Forsberg all scored for the Cougars (23-46-2), who were officially eliminated from any hope of post-season play.

Cole Cheveldave made 23 saves for the win as Drew Owsley allowed all 10 goals on 39 shots against.

Kamloops went 3 for 5 on the power play while Prince George went 1 for 3.
