Smith-Pelly's goal gives Majors 2-0 series lead over Petes in OHL playoffs

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Devante Smith-Pelly's power-play goal late in the second period stood as the game winner and the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors beat the Peterborough Petes 2-1 in Ontario Hockey League playoff action Monday.

Mississauga took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven first-round series. Game 3 is Tuesday in Mississauga.

Dustin Ekelman also scored for Mississauga while Jamie Wise replied for Peterborough.

Chris Carrozzi made 18 saves for the Majors while Jason Missiaen stopped 36 shots for the Petes.
