Smith-Pelly has hat trick as Mississauga downs Brampton Battalion 3-1 @NHLdotcom

BRAMPTON, Ont. - Devante Smith-Pelly did all the scoring for the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors on Sunday afternoon.

Smith-Pelly's hat trick paced the Majors to a 3-1 victory over the Brampton Battalion in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.

JP Anderson made 17 saves for Mississauga (28-8-5), while Casey Cizikas had two assists for the Majors.

Philip Lane was the lone scorer for Brampton (14-19-7), while Patrick Killeen stopped 35 shots.

Brampton opened scoring at 19:19 of the first period on the power play. Matt Clark's point shot was knocked down but Lane pounced on a rebound and fired a powerful wrister past Anderson from the slot.

The Majors evened the score at the 12:31 mark of the middle period with a man advantage tally of their own and took the lead 3:08 into the third period on Smith-Pelly's second of the afternoon. Smith-Pelley completed the hat trick at 9:49.
