Slaney, Hutchinson capture Canadian Hockey League weekly honours @NHL

TORONTO - Robert Slaney of the QMJHL's Cape Breton Screaming Eagles was named the Canadian Hockey League's player of the week Tuesday.

Slaney had five goals and two assists in four games with Cape Breton last week. The 20-year-old forward from Upper Island Cove, N.L., is in his fourth season with the Screaming Eagles and is currently seventh in league scoring with 46 points (18 goals, 28 assists) in 34 games this season.

Michael Hutchinson of the OHL's Barrie Colts was named goaltender of the week. He had a shutout and a 1.00 goals-against average and .972 save percentage in back-to-back games. The 18-year-old native of Barrie, Ont., is in his third season with the Colts.
