Silvertips forward Dan Gendur named Western Hockey League player of the month @NHLdotcom

Everett Silvertips forward Dan Gendur has been named Western Hockey League player of the month for January.

The 20-year-old Victoria native had 10 goals and 16 assists in 14 games, leading Everett to a 9-5 record.

In the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Halifax's Jakub Voracek was offensive player of the month after collecting six goals and 13 assists in nine games, Rouyn-Noranda's Marc-Andre Bourdon took defensive player of the month honours and Nicolas Deschamps of Chicoutimi was the rookie of the month.

Meanwhile, the American Hockey League named Manchester teammates Brian Boyle and Daniel Taylor rookie of the month and goalie of the month, respectively.
