WINDSOR, Ont. - Adam Henrique scored his 17th and 18th goals of the season and Justin Shugg added the winner with just over a minute remaining in the third period as the Windsor Spitfires defeated the Plymouth Whalers 4-2 in Ontario hockey League action Thursday.

The Whalers jumped out to a 2-0 lead midway through the game on goals from Miles McCauley and Garnett Meurs, who scored when he intercepted a clearing pass from Windsor netminder Troy Passingham and slid a low wrist shot behind the startled goalie.

Henrique and Taylor Hall scored for Windsor (17-3-3) to set the stage for Shugg's winner. Henrique scored his second goal of the game into an empty net.

Matt Hackett made 45 saves, many of them spectacular, in a losing effort for Plymouth (12-8-0) while Passingham made just 14 at the other end.

Overage right-winger Dale Mitchell made his season debut for Windsor. He was returned to the Spitfires on Wednesday by the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

Mitchell assisted on Shugg's game-winner.

The victory extended the Spitfires' winning streak to three games.

The Whalers were without star centre Tyler Seguin. The league's second-leading scorer missed the game with a lower body injury.
