ERIE, Pa. - Justin Shugg had a hat trick and added an assist as the Windsor Spitfires flew past the Erie Otters 5-2 in Ontario Hockey League play Saturday night.
Greg Nemisz and Adam Henrique had the other goals for Windsor (18-3-3).
Zack Torquato had a marker and an assist for Erie (9-10-3), while Greg McKegg also scored.
The Otters joined Liambas on the ice for a farewell address to the fans before the game. He returns home Sunday to complete a season-long suspension for his hit on Kitchener's Ben Fanelli Oct. 30.
The Spitfires won their fifth straight game and snapped the Otters' season-high, four-game winning streak. The Otters lost for the first time since Michael Liambas' suspension. Goaltender Jaroslav Janus lost for the first time in four starts since returning from the American Hockey League's Norfolk Admirals.
