Short summer doesn't deter Kings

by NHL.com Staff / NHL.com

The one downside of being a Stanley Cup champion is an abbreviated summer vacation.

When the Los Angeles Kings take the ice against the San Jose Sharks in their season-opener on Oct. 8, it will be less than four months since they won the Cup by beating the New York Rangers 3-2 in double overtime in Game 5 of the Final.

It's a trade they're more than willing to make.

"It doesn't really feel like I left, to be honest with you," forward Justin Williams told L.A. Kings Insider on Saturday.
