The St. Louis Blues are turning back the clock. All the way.
The Blues will wear their new heritage jersey by adidas for 11 home games during the 2018-19 season. The design is an homage to the uniforms St. Louis wore when it entered the NHL for the 1967-68 season.
For the special games at Enterprise Center, the Blues are going with the classic look, with the famous Blue Note logo in the same color as the jersey outlined in yellow and white.
The sleeves will feature yellow and white stripes at the elbow and bottom of the sweater. The numbers and nameplate letters are also in yellow.
Players are digging the retro look.
"It's nice we have a third jersey that's connected to the team's history," forward Vladimir Tarasenko told the Blues website. "And I really like the design. I think fans will like it."
"It brings back all the memories that you had as a kid, growing up and looking at old pictures of the Blues," captain Alex Pietrangelo told the site. "It brings back that old-school staple and pays tribute to all those guys that have built this organization to get it to where it is."
Forward Alexander Steen had a much simpler take.
"This is my favorite jersey in the NHL. Period," he said.
