Craig and Nicholle Anderson, with the help of the Ottawa Senators, hosted the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School hockey team at BB&T Center before a game against the Florida Panthers on Monday.

The Senators goalie and his wife bought 60 tickets for the state-champion hockey team, then surprised the players with team-signed jerseys and a meet-and-greet session with the whole team before its game against the Florida Panthers.

The Marjory Stoneman Douglas team, who won the Florida state hockey championship Feb. 25, knew the Andersons were purchasing tickets for them Monday. But when each member of the team arrived, he was greeted by Anderson and received a Senators NHL100 Classic jersey signed by every player on the team. The school also received a banner that said "The Ottawa Senators family stands by you" in the wake of the tragic shooting at the Parkland, Fla. school last month. The Andersons reside in Parkland.
Senators captain Erik Karlsson also was instrumental in helping the Andersons put together the final plan. Seventeen students were killed during a shooting at the Parkland, Florida-based school on Feb. 14.
It was the third recent outing at BB&T Center for the Marjory Stoneman Douglas team, which saw
the Stanley Cup during a practice
at the home of the Panthers on March 6, two days after they were hosted at a game by
Philadelphia Flyers defenseman and former MSD student
Shayne Gostisbehere.
