Oliver Wahlstrom is kind of a big deal. And he was years before he was selected in the 2018 NHL Draft.
Wahlstrom, who the New York Islanders selected with the No. 11 pick in the draft in Dallas on Friday, became famous for scoring a lacrosse-style goal as a 9-year-old at TD Garden, home of the Boston Bruins.

Wahlstrom was just a kid from Maine until he executed that move at the Bruins Academy Mini-1-on-1 in 2009. The original video has more than 6 million views on YouTube, and his elite hockey skill helped him become the subject of an NHL Network feature when he was a seventh grader playing varsity hockey in 2014.

He's still known as an exceptional goal-scorer, but the now-18-year-old, who's committed to play at Boston College, has rounded out his game.
