Shipley scores twice as IceDogs take 2-0 series lead with 6-1 win over Generals

OSHAWA, Ont. - Steven Shipley scored twice as the Niagara IceDogs defeated the host Oshawa Generals 6-1 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League playoff action.

Dougie Hamilton, Jesse Graham and Andrew Agozzino each had a goal and an assist for the IceDogs while Freddie Hamilton had a single goal.

Alex Friesen and Ryan Strome both chipped in with two assists.

Cole Cassels scored the lone goal for the Generals.

Mark Visentin made 25 saves for the win while Kevin Bailie turned away 32 shots in a losing effort.

Niagara went 3 for 7 on the power play as Oshawa failed to score on seven opportunities of their own.

The IceDogs now lead the series 2-0 with Game 3 to take place this Sunday in St. Catharines.
