SPOKANE, Wash. - Brendan Shinnimin scored once and set up three more as the Tri-City Americans defeated the host Spokane Chiefs 4-2 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.
Adam Hughesman had two goals for the Americans (48-17-3), who have won three straight and are tied with the Edmonton Oil Kings for first in league standings, while Justin Feser had a goal and two assists.
Dominik Uher and Davis Vandane each had a goal for the Chiefs (35-23-9), who lost in regulation for the first time in six outings and sit fourth in the Western Conference.
Ty Rimmer made 35 saves for the win while Mac Engel stopped 15 of 18 shots in a losing effort.
Tri-City was a perfect 2 for 2 on the power play as Spokane failed to score on four opportunities with the man advantage.
