Shinnimin scores twice as Americans blank lowly Prince George 4-0

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - Brendan Shinnimin scored two goals and assisted on another as the Tri-City Americans beat the Prince George Cougars 4-0 on Saturday night in Western Hockey League action.

Shinnimin had the lone goal of the first period and also scored the only one of the second. He set up teammate Adam Hughesman for a tap-in at the right side of the Prince George net early in the third. Johnny Lazo completed the scoring for the Americans (13-3-0) later in the period.

Tri-City goaltender Brett Martyniuk, making his first start of the season, picked up the shutout. Martyniuk wasn't busy, facing just 20 shots.

Hudson Stremmel made 36 saves in the loss for the Cougars (3-12-0).
