Shinnimin scores second goal in OT, leads Americans over Edmonton 5-4 @NHLdotcom

EDMONTON - Brendan Shinnimin scored his second goal of the game in overtime and Ty Rattie made 42 saves as the Tri-City Americans beat the Edmonton Oil Kings 5-4 in Western Hockey League action Wednesday.

Patrick Holland, Justin Feser and Malte Stromwall also scored for Tri-City (35-11-1), which moved to one point behind Kamloops for top spot in the Western Conference.

Griffin Reinhart scored twice for Eastern Conference-leading Edmonton (32-11-6). Martin Gernat's goal at 7:35 of the third period tied the game 4-4, while T.J. Foster also scored.

Laurent Brossoit made 39 saves for the Oil Kings.
