Shinnimin scores hat trick as the Americans defeat the Rockets 5-1 @NHLdotcom

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Brendan Shinnimin had his first career hat trick, including two short-handed goals, to lead the Tri-City Americans to a 5-1 victory over the Kelowna Rockets on Thursday in Western Hockey League action.

Patrick Holland and Brian Williams also scored for Tri-City (28-7-0).

Colton Sissions scored Kelowna's (14-18-5) lone goal.

Ty Rimmer finished with 33 saves for the win while Adam Brown turned aside 37 shots in defeat.

Both teams went 1-for-5 on the power play.

The Americans have won nine games in a row as Shinnimin has collected 11 goals and 22 points during that stretch.
