Sheppard scores winner in Peterborough's 3-2 victory over Ottawa @NHLdotcom

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Kenzie Sheppard's tiebreaking goal with 7:46 left in the third period lifted the Peterborough Petes to a 3-2 win over the Ottawa 67's on Thursday night in the Ontario Hockey League.

Branislav Rehus and Justin Soryal added singles for the Petes (12-16-0-1), who moved to within three points of the 67's (13-13-0-2) for third place in the East Division. Trevor Cann made the lead stand with a 29-save effort from Peterborough.

Logan Couture and Ryan Martindale countered for Ottawa, while Adam Courchaine stopped 41 shots in defeat.
