Shawinigan eliminates Quebec, advances to QMJHL final against Drummondville @NHLdotcom

QUEBEC - Nicholas Petersen scored twice and added an assist as the Shawinigan Cataractes coasted by the Quebec Remparts 6-1 on Friday to advance to the Quebec Major Junior League Hockey final.

The Cataractes, who eliminated the Remparts 4-1 in the series, will face the top-seed Drummondville Voltigeurs in the final. The Voltigeurs are undefeated in the playoffs so far with a perfect 12-0 record.

Maxime Legault scored twice and Matthew Pistilli and Pierre-Alexandre Vandall added one each for Shawinigan, which went 2-for-6 on the power play.

David Gilbert scored the lone goal for Quebec.

Cataractes goaltender Timo Pielmeier made 25 saves for the win. At the other end Charles Lavigne stopped 29 shots.

The final will be a matchup of the QMJHL's top teams. Drummondville led the league with 112 points, followed by Shawinigan with 105.
