SAN JOSE -- The San Jose Sharks began Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Pittsburgh Penguins in Beast Mode.

Former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, wearing a Sharks No. 24 with his nickname "Beast Mode"' on the name plate, opened San Jose's locker room door Saturday.

Lynch was born in Oakland, Calif., and went to college at the University of California in Berkeley, each about 40 miles from here. Lynch, who wore No. 24 for the Seahawks, announced his intention to retire from the NFL in February.

Game 3 is the first Stanley Cup Final game played in San Jose. PIttsburgh leads the best-of-7 series 2-0.
