Sharks' Guerin out for Game 5 with cut on face @NHL

DETROIT (AP) -San Jose Sharks forward Bill Guerin will not play against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday in Game 5 of their second-round series because of a cut on his face.

Guerin was injured after a teammate's deflected shot hit him in Game 4 on Wednesday night, when the Red Wings won in overtime and tied the series.

Sharks coach Ron Wilson said he has "no idea" if Guerin will be ready to play Monday night in Game 6 at San Jose.

Guerin, acquired by San Jose just before the trade deadline, has struggled in the playoffs, going scoreless with two assists in nine games.
