Sharks add Mayers @NHLdotcom
The Sharks front office is happy with getting a player like forward Jamal Mayers to fit into the roster. On the other hand, Mayers is just as happy to be coming to San Jose.

"It's certainly very exciting news," said Mayers from his St. Louis home. "I'm glad we were able to come to an agreement and get something done. I'm really excited about fitting in with the group and being part of something special. I've just been here in St. Louis in the offseason training and getting prepared for the season and waiting to get the call that a team like San Jose was interested."

For Mayers, there's no doubt, a team like the Sharks was at the forefront of his desired locations.

"No question," Mayers said. "It's no secret that at this point in my career, having not yet been able to win (the Stanley Cup), it certainly weighed in my decision process and I wanted to go somewhere I thought had the best chance to win. Obviously having played against the Sharks for years and seeing the team they've become the last few years is certainly attractive."

The always discussed noise level of HP Pavilion is also a factor as players prefer skating in front of sold out, loud buildings
