Sharks add Ferguson Jr., others to scouting staff @NHLdotcom
San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson and Sharks Director of Scouting Tim Burke announced today that the team has made several additions to their scouting staff. Joining the Sharks are John Ferguson, Jr., Dirk Graham, Shin Larsson and Jason Rowe.

For Ferguson it is almost a coming home of sorts as his father, John Ferguson, Sr., worked 11 years with the Sharks.

“To me it is a great opportunity,” said Ferguson. “(My dad’s) experiences with the organization were great. The organization has known continued success and the goals are realistic and high.”

Ferguson will base out of his Toronto home and cover a lot of the pro game.

“A lot (of my role) is still being determined,” said Ferguson, who will be the Director of Pro Scouting. “It will be primarily pros, but there is always overlap. Whatever Doug needs.”
