SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Defenseman Doug Murray scored three goals, Evengi Nabokov made 15 saves and newcomers Manny Malhotra and Dany Heatley helped the San Jose Sharks beat the Anaheim Ducks 6-0 in exhibition play Friday night.
Malhotra scored his first goal since signing a free-agent deal Wednesday, while Heatley, acquired from Ottawa on Sept. 12, had an assist for his first point.
Ryan Clowe and Devin Setoguchi also scored for the Sharks (3-2-1).
Murray had a goal in each period.
Murray opened the scoring with 5:14 left in the first, taking a pass from Heatley and scoring from the right side. It was Murray's first goal of the preseason.
The defenseman added his second goal early in the second, ripping a shot from just inside the blue line past goalie Justin Pogge's right side.
Murray completed the hat trick in third, scooping up a rebound on the left side and scoring with a shot that got away from Pogge on his left side.
Malhotra chipped a shot over Pogge's shoulder from just inside the crease in the Sharks' three-goal second period.
Pogge finished with 30 saves for Anaheim (4-3-0).
