SAGINAW, Mich. - The Saginaw Spirit scored three times in the third period to come from behind and beat the Belleville Bulls 6-4 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Josh Shalla scored two goals including the game winner as John McFarland, Garret Ross and Brandon Saad each had a goal and an assist. Vincent Trocheck also scored once for Saginaw (12-17-2).
Brendan Gaunce and Garrett Hooey lead the Bulls (19-12-0) with one goal and one assist each and Alex Carnevale rounded out the scoring with a single goal.
Tadeas Galansky stopped 21 of 25 shots for the win while John Chartrand made 14 saves on 19 shots in defeat.
This was Saginaw's first game since firing general manager and head coach Todd Watson. Associate coach John Kisil ran the bench and will do so again on Sunday as their new head coach, Greg Gilbert, will join the team on Monday.
