Shalla scores twice as Saginaw uses power play to defeat Sting 3-1 @NHLdotcom

SAGINAW, Mich. - Josh Shalla led the way with a pair of goals as the Saginaw Spirit defeated the Sarnia Sting 3-1 on Saturday night in the Ontario Hockey League.

Jordan Skellett had a goal and an assist for Saginaw (4-2-1-0), which scored all three goals on the power play. T. J. Brodie contributed two assists.

Zach MacQueen scored the lone goal for Sarnia (1-4-1-0) in the third period.

Starting goaltenders Anthony Peters and Adam Courchaine were both ejected from the game for their involvement in a line brawl at the start of the third period.

Peters and Edward Pasquale combined to make 19 saves for the Spirit. Sting netminders Courchaine and Shayne Campbell stopped 32 shots.
