Sexsmith earns 40th win of season as Giants defeat Rockets 4-1 @NHLdotcom

KELOWNA, B.C. - Casey Pierro-Zabotel scored twice, and Tyson Sexsmith won his 40th game of the Western Hockey League season, as the Vancouver Giants defeated the Kelowna Rockets 4-1 on Wednesday night.

Mitch Czibere and Mario Bliznak also scored for Vancouver (45-14-2-6), which pulled even with the Tri-City Americans for first place in the Western Conference.

Sexsmith faced 18 shots in goal.

WHL scoring-leader Colin Long notched his 28th and Kris Westblom made 32 saves for the Rockets (35-24-2-6), who missed a chance to overtake idle Everett for fifth place.
